What is All this Commotion About the iphone 4s?

My sister works at Apple store in San Francisco and had to face the mad crazziness of customers wanting to buy the newest iphone. I heard that there was a huge line even. I never really thought much about the iphone and all its glory this would make sense considering I don't have one but seriously what is great about it?. To me a phone is a phone you use it to communicate to people. I understand that its nice to have faster speed, games, apps, an such but to be honest those things never really interested me. I don't know I guess its different once you have one.
